Ingredients

  • 8 oz. (1 cup) 230 g (240 ml) cream cheese
  • 2 tsp 2 tsp olive oil
  • ½ cup (¼ oz.) 120 ml (8 g) fresh parsley or fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 1 garlic clove, mincedgarlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp lemon zest
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 (523 oz.) 4 (160 g) celery stalk, or other fresh vegetables of your likingcelery stalks, or other fresh vegetables of your liking

Making low carb simple

Instructions

Instructions are for 4 servings. Please modify as needed.

  1. Stir all ingredients into the cream cheese. Let sit in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to let all the flavors develop. Add salt if needed.

  2. Rinse celery stalks, cut into 2-3 inch lengths, and serve together with the soft cheese.

Tip!

We used fresh herbs, garlic and lemon in this recipe, but feel free to experiment with your favorite spices!Flavored cream cheese works well with cucumber, bell-pepper or carrot sticks, and with low-carb bread and sesame crispbread. And why not add some to gratins or sauces?

    I find using cauliflower a very good substitute. There are lots of recipes where it replaces rice. There is a great tai red chicken curry recipe on here that I make all the time using cauli...you just put cauli in food processor and pulse a few times, then fry in butter...Another thing I do with the Cauli is when frying in butter, add some spring onion, chopped peppers and some herbs...sensational ?

    If you aren't a vegan, then egg and cream (fatty milk products) are good alternatives.

    Parsley, basil, oregano, cilantro, thyme or rosemary are a few ideas but please feel free to experiment with this recipe and use other herbs and try mixing different kinds. Good luck!

    Chop or mince it, then per step 1, mix it into the cream cheese with the other ingredients.

    Fresh scallion salt and pepper. Its great stuffed in sweet cherry peppers or low carb dipped with pork skins.
