TY @BGSU for the opportunity to engage with the student nutrition and dietetics, exercise science and sports psychology communities. Talking about navigating, my career with tenacity, veracity, some audacity and sweat equity. To resonate, educate, motivate and get the buy in to we must have #conversationsoverconfrontations, be relevant, respect all cultures and acknowledge issues around access, affordability, environment, culinary ability by ensuring we #listentolearn. The narrative is our clients, athletes and patients- we can offer suggestions but ultimately the decision about how to implement recommendations on nutrition is not ours to make. #AdjustingyourLens #activeadvice #fuelsofengagement

Celebrating Dietetics Day with profound gratitude for the journey as a dietitian. From the early days of studying nutrition to the present, it’s been a rewarding path. The satisfaction of witnessing individuals undergo transformative health journeys is beyond words.Being part of people’s lives, guiding them toward healthier choices, and witnessing their triumphs is a privilege I cherish. Every success story is a testament to the power of personalized nutrition and lifestyle changes. The challenges have only fueled my commitment to this profession. The science of nutrition constantly evolves, and staying updated is both a responsibility and a joy. Collaborating with diverse individuals, from patients to colleagues, has enriched my understanding and skills.I feel blessed to work in a field where I contribute to the well-being of others. The impact of nutrition on overall health is profound, and being a catalyst for positive change is truly fulfilling. As a dietitian, I’ve learned that it’s not just about diets; it’s about empowering people to make sustainable, informed choices that resonate with their unique lifestyles. On this Dietetics Day, I extend my heartfelt thanks to those who have trusted me on their health journeys. It’s an honor to be part of your stories. Here’s to more learning, growth, and transformative moments ahead. Together, let’s continue promoting health and well-being. #dtmalvikafulwani #clinicaldietitian #dietitian #certifieddiabeteseducator #dieteticsday #dieteticsdays2024

My other Dietetics cap is being a Sports Dietitian🙂😉😁One of the roles of a Sports Dietitian is to do growth assessment of young athletes to ensure that they are growing adequately for their age. Assessment and monitoring growth is vital for development and help them perform at their best.Early identification of a growth problem leads to more effective treatment to assist with healthy development.#SportsDietitian #GrowthMonitoring #YoungAthletes #AthleteGrowthAssessment #GrowthAssessment #SportsNutrition

I absolutely love to learn. I like to think deeply, stretch my understanding, and expand my knowledge. I frequently think about the next steps in my educational journey, and what I would do if I could choose ANYTHING. Top choices (at the moment, in no particular order): Nutrition and dietetics, MBA, pelvic floor therapy, Ph.D. in Education, and potentially a seminary degree just for kicks. Is anyone else like this? What would you like to learn and explore next?#ppotd #lifelonglearning #education #occupationaltherapy

Read my Story!📍My interest in nutrition started budding when I was assigned as the food and health prefect in my 11th grade. This role bestowed with the responsibility of providing meal roasters for staffs and students and we were also to ensure meals were served at the dining hall in healthy, balanced and hygienic states. I never knew how important this duties were until I was opportune to also help the school nurses in their care for my colleagues that came to the school clinic with various health challenges after school hours. 📍At a certain time at the clinic, I noticed the complaints from many of the students and the subsequent recommendations of the health team to the school authority to adjust the meals. The remarkable reduction in the number of students that presented to the clinic following the recommended dietary adjustments activated my initial curiosity into how important healthy diet is to healthy living.📍Few years down the line, I began to come across articles, journals and documentaries highlighting the chronic state of malnutrition world over, most especially in the developing countries and the gross inadequacy of knowledge about balanced diet and the contribution this has had and is still having on morbidity and mortality.📍I had my Bachelor's degree in Human Anatomy which has given me a broad view of the Human Body. I still intend furthering my education in Dietetics but in the main time I love to create meaningful connections and awareness towards healthy living through enlightening webinars with industry experts.📍Any fun thing about me?- I am a Jesus lover, The very reason why I am living.- I am skilled in Digital marketing and content writing- I can't swim to save myself🥲- I love hymns, Its old but the words just strike through my heart Everytime.P.S: I'd like to meet you, share with us in the comment section.#mystory #olamidayoabolarin #mondaymotivation #healthiswealth #growth #dietician

As a Registered Dietitian it has never been an option for me to not be an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Member. As the only orginization who is for the Registered Dietitians my membership has opened doors for me that I would not have had otherwise including:-Clinical Nutrition Manager Dietetics Practice Group (DPG): when I was a new CNM my previous CNM told me about this amazing resource. From being an active DPG member, to subcommittee member this is the group that is my people, who I lean on before reinventing the wheel and get inspired by (because everyone is doing amazing things)!-Informatics DPG: My heart is always in informatics. I joined this group to learn new things and have been happy with their welcoming members and executive committee.-Nutrition Support DPG: Even though I am a CNM I continue my interest in nutrition support as this is an area that all clinical dietitians can learn and grow. This group is doing AMAZING things and I love their monthly podcasts! So question for you:If you are a member what is your story? What do you love about it? If you are not, why not? Is there something else you are looking for that you can't find?#ANDMembershipMatters, #SpeakUpForChange, #FindYourVoiceAND, #AdvocateForDietetics#VoiceOfNutrition, #DietitiansSpeakOut#RegisteredDietitiansUnited, #ANDStrongerTogether#AdvocacyInNutrition, #NutritionAdvocates#EmpowerRDNs, #EmpowerRDs
